The night that I was performing in the parable of the
, Ten Virgins (see below), Shad was in the nursery and fell and hit his head on a hinge...at least that is what they told me. I was there at the church all by myself, Dave was at his company holiday party. I called him in a panic to see if he could leave, he did what an awesome dad, I didn't know if I was going to have to go to the ER, or have an ambulance come or what. Plus I felt like I couldn't leave my fellow virgins left hanging, but they supported me no matter what. So I waited for Dave and we put a butterfly bandage on it and gave Shad some gum, cake and grapes...he was set. Dave arrived and he stayed there and watched me perform and then went home. When we were rebandaging it that night, I noticed that there was a "hole" in the wound, I thought umm that is not goos, I can tell that it is a different color than the rest of the wound. So I called my brother who is/was a paramedic...(he is now in law school)..to see if he could come over and look at it inthe morning, he did and ne recommended going and seeing the doctor, so we went to the doctors and...

(sorry so blurry)

...3 stitches later and a husband who had to lay on the floor to keep from passing out, we went home. It was a really deep cut that (which is why Dave almost passed out when they were cleaning inside it) so it was a good thing that we went in. Our first ever stitches from an accident. Lance had stitches 2 years ago when he had surgery on his thumb, but yes, this is the first stitches for my boys.

Poor sad stitches. :( That makes me want to cry. I am afraid of that part of having little boys.
Oh my ouch! Poor little Shadrack! Give him a kiss for me!
Oh Shad! I'm so sorry!!!! I hope it does not scar at all! He is too perfect! I wish we could keep our kids from ever getting stitches or broken bones, but since I've had stitches at least twice and broke bones two separate times, I probably won't hold my breath for my kids, just hope! I'm so glad you were still able to stay and get to be in the play, you did such a wonderful job, and I'm so glad you got to be a part of it! Love you!
